I have just recently started playing and working more in video, primarily utilizing a Phantom 2 Quadcopter. Flying the copter to heights and perspectives not seen before has been incredibly fun and fascinating. So far, just flying around Chicago has brought about a whole new love for the city in a totally new perspective.

I can’t wait to take this new equipment on our next trip to get some fantastic views and moments around the world. The clips below are all from the first 2 weeks that I had my Phantom so they are by no means perfect, but with more practice flying and more precision in my editing skills, I look forward to sharing some other projects I have been working on soon!

UPDATE:   After an unfortunate incident of the Phantom meeting a wall 🙂 due to a pretty severe downdraft – I had to make the decision to replace, repair or upgrade! After some debate, an upgrade was the way to go, so I have since updated my aerial rig to the DJI Inspire 1 Quadcopter which is significantly more powerful and offers some amazing capability in both photo and video work.

UPDATE 2:   After several years of my Inspire 1 being an amazing rig, I decided I needed to upgrade for better quality video and photos. I have since moved up in quality and down in size to the DJI Mavic 2 Pro for my video and aerial work now. The new Mavic is truly amazing in both photo and video quality for the size of the drone. I continue to shoot Commercial Real Estate work around Chicagoland in addition to personal fun flying and videos as we travel.
